What should I do if my ATM/Debit card is lost or stolen? IDENTITY THEFT Did you know that you are more vulnerable to identity theft via physical theft of bank account information and social security numbers than you are to Internet fraud techniques such as phishing? A recent FDIC "to do list for reducing ID Theft risk included an item called "Keep your financial trash 'clean'. This means that you should avoid discarding intact bank statements and other documents in your trash which show your account numbers, etc. The new Internet banking feature here at the Citizens Bank of Rogersville allow you to review your monthly statement (images, however, are not available on the internet) and give you an alternative to receiving your statement in the mail each month. The mailed statement should always be either filed/retained by you or destroyed by shredding or similar destruction before discarding in your trash.
